The practice provides a number of separate clinics and services for the benefit of patients. These are listed as follows:
Child Health Surveillance
The practice provides separate clinics for childhood immunisations and developmental checks. Please see the timetable opposite.
Child Health Services
Child Health Clinic
Monday 1.30 - 3.00pm
No appointment needed for weighing and discussion of progress with a health visitor.
Immunisations
First and third Tuesdays each month 1.30 - 3.00pm.
Routine Development Assessments
Six weeks, eight months and two year checks require appointments.
Letters will be sent to remind patients to make an appointment.
If you would prefer to attend your local health centre or clinic, rather than the surgery, please let us know.
Please contact our health visitors for details of parentcraft classes - weaning sessions, postnatal support groups or sleep support groups - if you are interested.

You should receive invitations automatically at the appropriate times. If you do not receive one, please contact the clinic.

Family Planning
Family planning services are available from the nurses and can be accessed by making a routine appointment.
Cervical Smears
We recommend all women who are or have been sexually active to have cervical smears. If you are 25 to 49, a smear is required every three years. If you are 50 to 64, a smear is required every five years. If you
have had a smear outside the practice we would be grateful if you will inform us so our records are updated appropriately.
Smear clinics, available Monday to Friday, are run by the nurses.
Well Woman
A full range of well woman services is available including contraception, cervical smears, hormone replacement therapy and coil fitting.
Minor Surgery Services
The doctors provide a service for minor operations for a number of conditions such as warts and cysts. If you would like further advice please make an appointment to see one of the doctors.
Chronic Disease Clinics
This is for patients who have long-term medical conditions including Diabetes, Asthma, COPD and Coronary Heart Disease. These clinics are led by our specialist nurses.
Antenatal Clinic
This is held between 9.00am - 12.30pm and 1.30 - 3.30pm on Thursdays. Our attached midwife is Sister Susan Quillam. The midwife can be contacted directly for advice.
Travel Injections
We are an approved Yellow Fever Centre. Our nurses give advice on vaccinations and anti-malarial requirements for travel to any country. Access is by appointment with the nurse in the travel clinics.
Telephone Consultations
The nurses are available for telephone advice between 12 noon and 12.30pm Monday to Friday.
Doctors are available for telephone advice between 11.30am and 12.30pm Monday to Friday.
Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Counselling
We have an extensive range of services covering these areas. These services can only be accessed by a referral from one of the practice doctors.
Over 75s
We have a health visitor for the elderly who is able to assess mobility, hearing, eye sight and memory and has access to social services and other support agencies. If you have any difficulties with your hearing, eyesight, mobility, memory or control of urine, kindly let us know.
Personal Medical Services
The practice has changed contracts from General Medical Services to Personal Medical Services (PMS). The PMS contract enables the practice to focus on specific patient needs such as coronary heart disease, diabetes, care of the elderly and mental health. The practice also participates in the quality and outcomes framework of the new contract.
